In Job 1, Satan is looking for someone to devour and the Lord presents him with Job. Job was a perfect and upright man, even one who shunned or avoided evil. However, Satan was convinced that the only reason Job served God was because God protected and shielded him from evil. Thus, God allowed Satan to test and afflict Job…to the degree that all he had from his Children, to his wealth and even his health was taken from him. But in (Job 1:20) it says “Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped.”
What a man of God! Through all that he went through, through all that he had lost, even through the frustration of his wife telling him to curse God and die, Job worshipped God in the midst of great trouble and affliction. However, though Job’s story has been told, ours has yet to be written, and the fact is will we who call ourselves Christians worship God in the midst of the storm and remain who he has called us to be? I guess only time in the storm will reveal your true worship.
God Bless You
