The Power Of One Hour

April 30, 2013

As Jesus was dealing with his impending crucifixion, he went away to pray, however when he comes back to check on the disciples (Matt 26:40) says “that he found them asleep, and saith unto Peter, “what, could ye not watch with me one hour.”

What that says to me is that there is power in one hour of focused time with God. Jesus didn’t ask the disciples to pray all night he simply ask for one hour. What could God do in our lives if we focused solely on him for one hour? If we sat in his presence and prayed, praised, and listened for his voice for one hour on a consistent/daily basis I believe he could change our lives for real. He could change the way we think, the way we act; he could totally turn our hearts unto him. In fact, God demands that we find time with him daily but very often our time alone with him is not time that is focused solely on him…tuning everything else out; that’s why we aren’t completely changed because we don’t understand the power of one hour of focus on God. What’s up saints, could you not focus on God for one hour? If not, you’re never be who God desires for you to be.

Power At Home 2

April 24, 2013

Continuing from the “power at home theme;” if you have the power of the Holy Ghost in you somebody in your home ought to notice it first. Somebody in Jerusalem (Ref. Acts 1:8) ought to be able to see this power of God working in you. Very often when we receive the power of God, we want to impress the people in Samaria and the uttermost parts of the world, we want everybody else to know that we have the power of God in us and those in our home are wondering who is that masked man/woman because the family doesn’t see that same display of power at home.

They don’t see the love of God working in you at home; they don’t see the prayer life you talk about in the church at home. Your wife doesn’t see a husband loving his wife as Christ loved the church at home, or the husband doesn’t see the submissive wife at home that’s proclaimed in the church. The kids don’t see the interaction that Christian mothers and fathers talk about at church going on in the home. In other words, if we are going to proclaim that we have this power of God in us somebody in our home ought to see the change manifested first. (Ref. Act.1:8)

Thy Kingdom Come

April 17, 2013

(MATT 6:10), Thy kingdom come, thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.

As a Christian, God desires for us to manifest the kingdom of heaven on earth. He takes that which is visible (the believer), and brings to past that which is invisible to the natural eye (the kingdom of heaven), through the heart of the believer. That’s why Jesus instructed the disciples in prayer, to pray “thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven”. What a responsibility for the believer, to allow God to use us to bring that which is in heaven down to the earth to be seen and felt by all mankind. And in the days and times we live in, the kingdom of heaven on earth needs to come quickly. As Christians then, what should we be expecting from the kingdom to be released in the earth? We should expect God to use us to bring about love, joy , peace, forgiveness, consistent prayer-praise and worship, comfort to weary souls, and deliverance from the bondage of sin, just to name a few. Remember God wants to move through us to bring the kingdom of heaven down to earth so that our days on earth would have a taste of heaven.
He even left us a word in (ST. Luke 17:21), “Neither shall they say lo here, or lo there, for behold the kingdom of God is within you”. All our days on earth may not be like Sunday morning, but they don’t have to be hell either, look on the inside of you, there you will find a taste of the Kingdom.

Prayer for the wisdom of God

April 9, 2013

(PRO.4:7) tells us “That wisdom is the principal thing, therefore get wisdom and with all thy getting, get understanding.

The wisdom of God is one of the most important attributes that we could ever ask for, because where you find the wisdom of God, there you will also find understanding. To be able to apply the word of God to your life is the wisdom of God. In fact this wisdom was so important to King Solomon, that when he was asked by God “what is it that I shall give you”? King Solomon replied “give me now wisdom and knowledge”. You see if God was to ask us the same question He ask Solomon, many of us would say give me wealth, riches, comfort…etc., but what good are those things when you don’t have enough Godly wisdom to know how to handle such blessings…because the bible tells us that a fool and his money will soon depart. Therefore, Solomon’s request of God to give him wisdom, (application to apply Gods word effectively), God was now able to trust him with wealth, health, riches and honor. Some of us are asking God for the wrong things. In your prayer time, ask God for wisdom, that you might live the Christian life effectively, and in so doing, you too might begin to receive blessings from God that you never imagined
