The third thing we must do if we are to be successful at building wealth is we must learn to budget. My definition of budget comes from a book I read by John Maxwell some time ago and it’s simply “telling your money where you want it to go instead of wondering where it went.” Too often money goes through our hands so fast and we never account for where it went, all we know is that it’s gone. But when you are disciplined enough to give every dollar that comes into your possession a name, where it’s written down in budget form and followed to the letter, then you can begin to account for your spending habits and put together a portrait of where the money is going. Until you are prepared to do that, you are not prepared to win with money. Saints of God, one of your greatest wealth building tools is your personal income and we spend it as if it’s always going to be there, never taking advantage of the blessing God has given us through the careers or jobs that we currently have. Whether you feel as if you make enough or not, we all have to start with the budget because if God sees that you want be faithful over the few dollars that you have, don’t expect to be blessed with the many.
God Bless You
