Have Faith In God

October 29, 2013

(St. Mark 11:22-23) says “Have faith in God. For whosoever shall say unto this mountain be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”
Thus, the expectation for every Christian is that we would believe God. In short, if you believe you will receive and if you doubt you will be without. Therefore, no matter what comes your way believe God for the victory because we are either walking by faith, in faith, through faith or now faith.

Remember that the little things are the big things

October 15, 2013

You have heard it said that it won’t be the big things that cause many to miss heaven, big things being drinking, cussing, drugs, adultery…etc. But it will be the little things…lying, some say little white lies, I have no idea where that term came from, cheating, taking stuff from work and justifying that it’s okay. Some would say those are little things. However, if it’s the little things that are going to cause many to miss heaven, shouldn’t they be rephrased as big things? Because the truth is that anything that would cause me to miss heaven for a date with hell is certainly a big thing…just saying. (Song of Solomon 2:15A) says “Take us the foxes, the little foxes that spoil the vines:

Some Trust In Everything But God

October 2, 2013

It seems that believers today are trusting in everything and everybody, but God. We trust that our jobs will always be there, we trust that our family and friends will be there in the time of need, and we trust that our finances will be right for certain things we have planned to do. In fact, we trust in the very things that God has allowed us to have, such as our material possessions. However, one thing is certain, God has always meant for the believer to trust in Him above all else. In the unstable times that we live in everything you own can be lost in a matter of seconds; all you have worked for can be gone up in smoke; then what do you have when you are left with nothing?

My hope is that your ultimate trust is in God. King David said “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God (Psalm 20:7)”. In David’s day if you had an abundance of chariots and horses, then you essentially had a great army and victory in battle was yours. However, David didn’t put his trust in what he could see on the battlefield through natural eyes, he put his trust in the God who is seen only through the eyes of the Spirit.
