In some ways worship is sometimes hard to define because it can truly only be experienced. But like any other experience in life we need to give it a definition.
Worship comes from the old English word (worth-ship) it is recognition of and a response to the worth of God in our lives. Anytime you value the worth of someone you usually do something to demonstrate that worth. Thus, as Christians we demonstrate the worth of God through an attitude of the heart in how we think, speak and act and by actions of service, in how we live, give and do for others on behalf of the Lord. It’s not simply what we do on Sunday mornings but it is the totality of our lives. Thus, the psalmist says “Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts” (Psalm 96:8).
