Overcomers

November 2, 2015

To overcome is to get the better of in a struggle or conflict. It also means to conquer. And the Christian life is full of overcoming moments and we must embrace those moments because they come to increase our faith and bring us into a closer relationship with God.  (1 John 4:4) says “you are of God little children and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” Thus, for the Christian, God has already declared you a winner, He has already declared you to be the victor for he spoke in past tense when he said “ye are of God little children and HAVE OVERCOME. However, do you believe you have already overcome even before the battle has begun? This is where our faith must arise. Only believe!

God’s Grace Is Sufficient

September 23, 2015

When  you are faced with great trials and great difficulties in life, God has a great grace that’s available to see you through. No one knew that better than the Apostle Paul because when he faced great trials… the messenger of Satan, Jesus said “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” Understand that when you are weak, there is a grace of God prepared to give you strength for the journey ahead. Rest in the grace of God!

Three Purposes of Marriage in the Beginning-2

August 26, 2015

Secondly, the man would be joined with his wife: To be joined in the Hebrew means (to stick or glue together). Like two pieces of material being glued together the husband and wife can’t be torn apart unless one or the other decides intentionally or unintentionally to separate or tear themselves from the marriage. However, in the beginning God expected the two to be joined for life, to stick together through thick and thin, good and bad, and in the ups and the downs of life. In other words, marriage is work and nothing from nothing leaves nothing.

Three purposes of Marriage in the Beginning-Part 1

July 26, 2015

(Gen 2:24) says “Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother and shall cleave unto his own wife: and they shall be one flesh.

From the beginning of time God expected at least three things to happen in every marriage:
The first thing is that a man would leave his father and mother: This implies that he would leave the parent’s behind and the family he grew up in to take a woman’s hand in marriage and publicly declare his love and union with another. When a husband and wife have made such a declaration, they have a greater reason to give themselves to building a committed relationship one with another. This also means that they don’t run to mommy and daddy every time they have an issue. What it should mean is that they both run to God or to someone who has an intimate relationship with God…such as their pastor or spiritual advisor to help them see God’s vision for their marriage. There is no shame in asking if you really don’t know. The only shame is seeing a marriage on life support, or worst, divorce because neither spouse sought out help. Now that’s a darn shame.

Jesus Saves to the Uttermost

June 29, 2015

Jesus is not simply some great teacher. He is not simply some great prophet. He is the son of God; He is God in the flesh and He is the only one that can save man to the (Uttermost)…entirely, completely and without fail. You see your job can’t save you, mom and dad can’t save you; your spouse can’t save you. Oh sure, they can help you; they can assist you but to be saved to the uttermost can only be done by one man and that’s the God-Man Christ Jesus. If you truly want your life to be changed permanently and not simply a temporary fix, surrender totally to Jesus who has the power to save to the uttermost. Hebrews 7:25 says “Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”

Are You Ready To Serve?

June 28, 2015

Jesus had a heart to serve to the degree that he served up himself that we might have the right to the tree of life. We know this is true for (St. Mark 10:45) says “For the son of man came not too ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many”. Thus, are we willing to serve others with the intensity that Jesus served us? We may not have to give our lives to the degree that we have to shed blood, but we will have to give of our time, resources, energies and efforts at a time when it is very inconvenient for us. In fact, God would have it no other way. To serve is not only Godly, but serving with the intensity of Christ Jesus will cost you something.

Rest In The Lord

April 20, 2015

The secret to finding rest in the Lord is not to be over anxious about anything. When life attempts to get the best of you and begins to take you down the road of anxiety, fear and frustration, do as Apostle Paul commanded the church at Phillipi to do “Be careful for nothing;but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God, and the peace of God which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (PHIL.4:6-7). Many still don’t understand this power of prayer, supplication (earnest petitioning of God) and thanksgiving which brings about a peace over us. Many don’t understand because is not natural, it’s supernatural.
