A Broken And Contrite Spirit

November 30, 2009

In the Body of Christ you often hear people say they are seeking the presence, power and anointing of God; but if we want the presence of God to be evident in our lives, we must operate in a contrite and humble spirit. When a Christian operates in a contrite and humble spirit, you want have to look for God because God is actually looking for you. God wants to hang out with people that operate in a contrite {repentant} and a humble spirit {not seeing themselves too high or too low, but as God sees them}. (ISA 57:15KJV) says “For thus saith the high and lofty one that inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the spirit of the contrite one”. Those who operate with a broken and repentant spirit are not earthly, but they are heavenly minded; thus it affords God the opportunity to be in their presence, because they have elevated themselves to a place where God and the Christian can become intimate. Also as God sees humility and contriteness He wants to give you more of it, and I don’t know about you but as for me, I can use more of both. Thus, if we are looking for the power of God find someone who operates in a broken and contrite spirit; someone who, when they find themselves to be doing wrong, they will say they are wrong and will go to God and repent and live differently. It’s there where we find the power of God.

Happy Thanksgiving

November 26, 2009

As we carve our turkeys’s and celebrate this day with family and friends, let’s not forget to give thanks to God for the many, many blessings He has bestowed upon us. And while we are giving thanks let’s not forget to give thanks for our U.S. military because without them we could be fighting wars on our soil and in our backyards instead of on foreign soil. It’s through their volunteerism and sacrifice; it’s through their blood which has been spilled in foreign mud that we are able to enjoy special days like these where the real enemy that would desire to kill us doesn’t have the opportunity because our military has taken the fight to them on their own soil. Thus, it is with great joy that we celebrate this day and the sacrifices that our military and their families have made that we might be able to truly enjoy the freedoms we have and give thanks for this day.

The Father’s Business

November 25, 2009

(St. Luke 2:49 KJV) “And he said unto them, how is it that ye sought me? Wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?

We hear this term spoken a lot in the body of Christ and in fact, it is a term which the young child Jesus even referred to as He spoke to his mother. However, what does it mean to be about the Father’s business? Well the scripture tells us that in (Matt 4:23) “That Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of disease among the people.” Hence, if that was his business it should be our business if we call ourselves Christians. Our business plan should at least have some preaching, teaching and healing incorporated into it daily. If our Christian business has these three elements in it, it is a plan that will not fail. This business is not just for us to benefit from, even though we should be the first partaker in receiving the benefits of preaching, teaching and healing. But eventually, it should benefit those whom we come into contact with on a daily basis; whether it’s a family member, friend or associate we should all be about enlarging or expanding the Father’s business to the degree that we encourage someone else to share this good news of Jesus Christ. Additionally, this is a business model that will also bring us some success on earth as well, and every Christian wants success but every Christian don’t really want to pay the price for success. But those who are really about the Father’s business will realize success as he/she sees men and women being changed for the better all around them.

Blessed

November 24, 2009

Too many Christians are looking at being blessed from the wrong perspective. Very often when we think of blessings we think of what kind of car we drive or what neighborhood we live in or how much money we have in the bank or maybe even what type of profession we are in. But Jesus said “Blessed are they that hear the word and keep it (St. Luke 11:28). Thus, those who are truly blessed are those that obey the word of God. Those who obey the word of God, the Lord truly has a blessing for us. Those who obey the word of God are not going to leave this earth with God owing them anything because He will truly sow into those who hear and obey the word of God. The fact is that we are already blessed when we obey; however, the Lord will reward our obedience exceedingly and abundantly above all we could ask or think. Saints of God we must understand that faith and obedience moves the hand of God and when He sees it He truly desires to be a blessing to us even the more. But the good news is when we hear and obey we are already blessed, anything else God gives us is just icing on our cake of obedience.

God Bless You.
